duomo
The Duomo, is the Italian cathedral church. It is basically the center piece of Milan. We walked by the Duomo almost everyday. We went on a tour on our second week to the inside of it. The inside was as beautiful as the outside. It has taken six centuries to complete. We learned that it is made out all marble, so it is consistently being worked on because marble wears away fast. It is the fifth largest Christian church in the world. Inside, it had so much history, full of mummies and famous statues.

La Scala
La Scala is the opera and ballet house of Milan. Many famous performers perform here all the time. We went inside and got to sit in one of the boxes. Every box is decorated by the family who owns it. Tickets are usually very hard to come across. They also had a museum inside, where it had pictures and props used in past performances. It was very cool to get to go inside and see this.

sforza castle
We toured the castle last on our tour. It was built in the 15th century by the Duke of Milan. It was later renovated and enlarged and is known as the largest citadels in Europe. Today it houses several of the city's museums and art collections. When you enter the castle, you go through the main court which is very large and open. We went into several different rooms where many different paintings, statues, and other work was being showed.
