Genoa, Italy
Allison and I arrived a weekend before classes started, and we decided to spend that weekend in Genoa! We landed in Milan then made our way to the train station and ended up here. This was our first experience ever on a train so it was very interesting. Once we arrived at the train station we got in a taxi and made our way to our hostel. The first day was a bit of a struggle because we were both exhausted! We found a little restaurant a few minutes from our hostel that had wonderful pizza. Our second day we spent the day walking around, exploring the city, and did some shopping. Again, still pretty exhausted it was a pretty early night again. On Sunday we spent our day getting back to Milan. Overall, Genoa was a learning experience and a great start to our trip.

Cinque Terre, ItalyAfter our first week of sitting in language classes, we were more than excited to get away for the weekend and head to Cinque Terre! We had researched the five cities and decided we would go to Monterosso and Manarola. We headed to Monterosso first so we could lay on the beach and get some sun! We did just that, and it was so relaxing. The next day we went to Manarola, for the main reason to cliff jump! Cinque Terre was a great weekend away full of sun, margaritas, and fun.

Como, Italy
We actually ended up going to Lake Como twice the last week we were in Italy. We went on Sunday for the day to check it out and walk around. Lake Como has many cities around it, and you need to take a ferry to each of them. We headed to Bellagio as we had planned to go kayaking! Our plan was a little messed up because had not known we had to book this prior to going. We ended up taking a second trip out there a few days later but this time with a few things planned out and booked! First we rented a boat for a few hours and drove that around and saw more of the beautiful lake. We then hiked our way to the other side of Bellagio to do our kayaking. We had a wonderful time!
